We are Team Proto 2019-2020, engineering students from the University of Strathclyde Glasgow. The team will be creating the ‘Whale of Litter’.
For the 5th year, the University of Strathclyde join us to create pupils’ designs for the #IfYouWereAnEngineerWhatWouldYouDo competition for Scotland. This year, students Orla McGowan (Head of Communications), Nicola Aird (Project Coordinator), Cameron McFarlane (IT Specialist) and Craig Sinkins (Operations Manager), join us to build the ‘Whale of Litter’ by Lacey Murphy.
Lacey’s idea, ‘Whale of Litter’, will pick-up rubbish in the sea and has an extendable arm to cut the plastics that get caught around fish and other marine life. Lacey said “plastic is bad for the world and takes too long to break down”.
