The Flat Pack Wind Turbine project is being done in collaboration with Primary Engineer and a team from Glasgow Caledonian University.

Douglas Macartney a 3rd-year student from The Royal High School in Edinburgh created the ‘Flatpack Wind Turbine’ to get electricity to refugee camps where there is barely enough room for sleeping for all of the refugees. Douglas imagined that these turbines could be used in remote areas with no access to power, refugee camps and places recently hit by natural disasters.

The team decided to choose Douglas’s design as it was laid out perfectly and it was clear that had done his research. It also contributions to the common good.
